Sustainability to be addressed at BAU 2023 in Munich

The United Nations will meet in New York later this year, and foremost on that Agenda for Sustainable Development will be Decarbonising Business. Hence the need to see the latest technological advances, and the investments made to date.

This year’s Bau ( World’s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials, Systems April 17–22, 2023 | Trade Fair Center Messe München)  is going to be different to all previous trade shows. Some of Europe’s most industrialised forward-thinking countries, and Germany is right up there among them, are finally going to address the topic that is on every industrialist’s lips, Sustainability. Bau is to be the platform to bring the various players in the world of design and construction together.

Technology innovators, and investors, will all play their role in making the construction industry fit for purpose in the modern world. Addressed will be the need to find nature-based solutions that the industry can utilise to facilitate and accelerate the net zero transition.

Sustainability & Profitability – The industry is now being encouraged, and obliged, to invest in sustainable initiatives, especially in this time of economic uncertainty. In so doing one can establish how doing so can be beneficial to growth and bring profitability.

Reporting & regulation – The construction and design industry now needs to listen to policymakers, meet the standard setters, see how their business is going to be impacted by new regulation, see how the future standards convergence will affect their business, and then understand the ways to navigate this change.

Every department, in companies large and small in the industry, has a role and responsibility to support the successful transformation of the construction business; sustainability needs to be integrated throughout all organisations. Communicating the need for sustainable investment is vital for building an increasingly transparent, resilient, and profitable business for the future.”
