CEO Manufacturing Magazine and EuropaProperty.com would like to thank all those that attended the 7th annual CEE Manufacturing & Logistics Awards held in Warsaw’s prestigious Raffles Europejski Hotel. The glittering awards ceremony looked fantastic and was witnessed by a select group of senior European and Central European manufacturing and logistics professionals; affirming the event’s status as a true landmark event for the manufacturing, logistics and related industries.
Volkswagen Group were the big winners on the night collecting a hat trick of prizes. Other multiple award winners included Panattoni Europe, DHL Supply Chain and Rockwell Automation.
Volkswagen, the global automotive giant, was recognised for its continued Excellence in Manufacturing and walked away with the Customer Relationship Management/Customer Service/Customer Satisfaction award and the Supply Chain Management Logistics award; culminating in the coveted Overall Manufacturer of the Year prize.
Panattoni Europe, once again flexed its development muscles as Europe’s biggest warehouse and industrial developer. The company enhanced its development credentials even further by picking a BTS award in the small category for a newly built 18,000 sqm warehouse and manufacturing facility for K-Flex in Poland, along with the Developer of the Year.
Hillwood, a leading commercial real estate firm with 30 years of experience in delivering investments across Europe and North America, walked away with the BTS award in the large category for a development for Zalando in Olsztynek, Poland.
DHL Supply Chain, a world leader in supply chain logistics, and Rockwell Automation, walked away with some of the other big company prizes. DHL won the Logistics Supplier award as well as the Industry Professional award for the firms CEO for the CEE region, Hendrik Venter. Rockwell collected awards in the Business & Science and Manufacturing Maintenance categories.
Flex, a leading sketch-to-scale solutions company that designs and builds intelligent products for a connected world, collected the Automation/Robotics prize on the night. Toyota Motor Group, a leader in automation technologies that enable customers to improve their automobile performance, picked up an award for Production Innovation in the Product Design/Life Cycle Management category.
Winners of the Manufacturing Suppliers categories included Zebra Technologies for Information Technology and Valeo Group, a worldwide automaker supplier, was voted Manufacturing Supplier.
Avon Operations Poland collected the Sustainability and Environment award, BorgWarner’s Paweł Tetela was voted Plant Manager of the Year, and the Quality Control award went to pharmaceutical firm Polpharma.
Cushman & Wakefield were the eventual winners of the highly contested category Corporate Real Estate Consultancy, beating off stiff competition from an array of fellow real estate heavy weights.
Metroplan Poland picked up the evening’s first award in the Professional Service Provider category. Other service providers awarded on the night included Apleona HSG in the Facility Management category. White & Case was voted Law Firm of the Year, Kajima was voted Construction Company of the Year for the third year in succession, and Arcadis was voted Project Management Firm.
The awards were preceded by a series of discussion panels covering the manufacturing and logistics industries in the region. Panelists agreed that the region is at the doorway to Industry 4.0 with automation, data integration and co-robotisation as the main challenges that production plants and logistics supply chains will face in the coming years. They also agreed that without tackling these factors, they will not be able to build a competitive advantage.
