Turner & Townsend, the global professional services company, has been appointed by Shell Real Estate as its sole global provider of programme management office (PMO), project management, and cost and commercial management services for the next five years.
Turner & Townsend will support Shell Real Estate in managing and delivering a capital programme across its global real estate portfolio, spanning more than 11 million sqm (figures from Shell’s annual data, correct as of 2024). The portfolio includes offices, laboratories, accommodation, and industrial facilities at energy-related sites in more than 60 countries.
This remit includes delivering world-class workplaces at flagship assets such as Shell Centre London, Shell Woodcreek Houston, The Hague Campus, and Shell Business Operations Bangalore.
The re-appointment deepens a 30-year relationship between the two organisations and reflects Shell’s commitment to building long-term, strategic global partnerships with key suppliers.
Through the renewed collaboration, Turner & Townsend will continue to bring its market-leading capital programme and portfolio expertise, alongside innovative solutions such as its Hive digital delivery platform, which provides benchmarking, project, cost, and commercial management tools. The firm will also deliver expert advisory services, including sustainability, procurement, and health and safety.
Turner & Townsend brings extensive global real estate experience to the role, currently working with 50 percent of the world’s top 20 financial holdings companies and having delivered many of the world’s largest real estate programmes.
