VeloBank, which finalised the acquisition of Citi Handlowy’s retail banking operations in Poland in June, has extended its lease for office space in the Q22 tower in Warsaw. The owner of the property, a fund from the Invesco Real Estate group, was advised by CBRE, which is also responsible for the building’s management and leasing.
VeloBank’s Warsaw office occupies 1,068 sqm in the Q22 building, owned by a fund from the Invesco Real Estate group. This prime location houses a private banking branch – a highly representative space where affluent clients are served. VeloBank, continuing the operations of the acquired retail segment of Citi Handlowy, has decided to remain in this prestigious location for the coming years.
“Continuing our lease at Q22 was a natural decision for us. It allows us to maintain continuity of service for our clients in a location they have known and valued for years, while also providing our team with a comfortable and modern working environment. The high standard of the building and its excellent location align well with the needs of VeloBank’s clients and the character of our brand,” comments Luiza Lisowska, Director of the Administration Department at VeloBank.
The lease extension by a financial sector institution is an important signal for the market, confirming the continued attractiveness of top-class office assets.
“We are very pleased that VeloBank has decided to extend its lease and remain at Q22 for the coming years. This is clear proof that our policy of active asset management and maintaining the highest building standards enables us to build long-term relationships with the most demanding tenants from the financial sector,” adds Anna Szelc, Senior Director representing Invesco Real Estate.
The building owner was represented in the process by Radosław Pawlak and Karol Muszyński from advisory firm CBRE, which is also responsible for managing the property.
“VeloBank’s decision to remain at Q22 following the acquisition of Citi Handlowy’s retail banking operations demonstrates that prime office buildings provide financial institutions with the stability they seek during periods of operational change. Retaining such a demanding tenant is the best proof of the building’s high quality and the landlord’s partnership approach. We would like to thank both parties for the highly substantive and collaborative negotiations, which resulted in a long-term agreement perfectly aligned with both the bank’s development strategy and Invesco Real Estate’s investment objectives,” says Karol Muszyński, Associate Director, CBRE.
The Q22 office building is located in Warsaw on Jana Pawła II Avenue, close to Warsaw Central Station and the Rondo ONZ metro station. Completed in 2016, the building offers approximately 54,000 sqm across 42 above-ground floors, combining office space with retail and service areas. Q22 holds a BREEAM In-Use Outstanding certification, as well as WiredScore and SmartScore certifications at the highest Platinum level, confirming its efficiency and the use of the most advanced technological solutions.
