ZF TRW, a global automotive supplier, has selected Symetris Business Park – developed by Echo Investment – as the location for its new electronics engineering centre in Lodz. The company has leased nearly 2,400 sqm of space. Experts from JLL advised ZF TRW on the process of selecting the new space.
Rafał Zatorski, Director, Electronics Engineering Centre, ZF TRW, commented: “We decided to diversify our locations in Poland. Joining our department located in Częstochowa, which currently employs over 300 specialists, will be our new electronics engineering centre in Lodz which will be launched in May 2017. Ultimately, this project will employ 200 specialists. Our centre in Częstochowa is currently responsible for designing and developing electronic safety systems for the automotive industry. Our organization has a global structure and co-operates with other research and development units throughout the world, including the United States, Germany, Great Britain and China. Currently, we are predominantly looking for electronics engineers and IT specialists. We selected Lodz because of its access to highly-qualified employees and a large number of universities with a technical profile.”
Paweł Milcarz, Senior Leasing Manager, Echo Investment, said: “Following Nordea Bank AB and Philips Polska, ZF TRW is another tenant that has decided to lease modern office space in the phase I of Symetris Business Park complex. Our building met all the requirements of a tenant willing to launch a modern electronics engineering centre in Łódź. This agreement is another crucial step in the commercialization process of our Lodz-based investment. The building of phase I is already 80 percent leased. Currently, we are conducting development of Symetris Business Park’s second building. It will provide the market with an additional 9,500 sqm of office space. Its completion and delivery to market is scheduled for autumn 2017.”
Symetris Business Park is a modern office complex providing 17,500 sq m of space located on Aleja Piłsudskiego Street – a main artery of Lodz linking the city centre with two of its biggest districts, namely Widzew and Retkinia. The building has been BREEAM certified.
