Foundation works start for BW Galerija shopping center in Belgrade

Belgrade Waterfront announces the start of foundation works for BW Galerija, soon to be the biggest shopping and lifestyle destination in the region. The main works are planned to be completed in 2020.

“With BW Galerija, we are launching the new age of retail in Serbia. This will be one of the focal points of Belgrade Waterfront, offering a new shopping, dining and entertainment concept, with numerous amenities and attractions in one place. The precinct has already received strong interest from some of the world’s leading brands, many of them coming to Serbia for the first time,” said Nikola Nedeljkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Waterfront.

With a total construction area of 140,000 sqm above ground, BW Galerija will be the largest retail address in the region, with excellent connectivity to all major transportation routes and abundant parking. A covered footbridge will connect it with The St. Regis Belgrade, providing direct access to a spectacular observation deck at the top of the 40 storey Kula Belgrade.

The BW Galerija is designed to hold three main avenues leading through the venue, along with natural light lighting up the entire space through the skylights roof, specifically designed to bring the outside shopping experience indoors.

With its European charm, unique location at the heart of Belgrade Waterfront development that is set at the bank of river Sava with access to Sava Promenada, BW Galerija will attract both local and foreign visitors; adding value to Belgrade Waterfront offering as a whole. An array of amenities from luxury boutiques to street fashion shops, cinemas, restaurants, cafés and children play areas will enrich the existing Belgrade’s offer, defining the capital as the main regional destination, and providing an unexcelled lifestyle to residents of Belgrade Waterfront.

RTKL, one of the world’s largest multi-disciplinary design companies, is the lead designer for BW Galerija, while Arhi.Pro is the local design consultant. The piling contract for BW Galerija has been awarded to Novkol, a local construction company specialized in deep foundations and piling works.

The opening of BW Galerija’s construction site reaffirms the strong progress of Belgrade Waterfront, complementing the works at three other active construction sites: BW Residences, which have already reached the 20th floor, and the ongoing piling works for BW Vista and The St. Regis Belgrade.
