Żurawia 8 Begins a New Chapter, Wrapped in Greenery

The address at Żurawia 8 in Warsaw will return to the residential use it had at the beginning of the 20th century. The postmodernist office building, long home to one of Poland’s largest radio stations, will make way for a residential development designed by MVSA Architects. Year-round greenery will envelop its terraces, providing privacy and creating a peaceful green retreat in the very heart of Warsaw. The luxury development by Polish company MS Investments will offer 69 apartments ranging from 40 to 280 sqm.

“The new Żurawia 8 is a project for people who want to live or invest in property in the true centre of Warsaw. The building has been designed with respect for its surroundings, using the highest-quality materials and solutions for urban greenery that are unique on the Polish market. We are also drawing on the history of the site – it was once occupied by a tenement building with rear wings and an internal courtyard. Returning the property to residential use will allow us to make the most of its potential,” says Michał Szramowski, CEO of MS Investments.

“The concept for Żurawia 8 is based on a contrast between the disciplined form of the building, responding to the surrounding urban fabric, and the organic character of the interior of the block. The intimate courtyard, flowing geometry of the balconies and greenery designed as a permanent element of the façade will create a calm yet distinctly metropolitan environment. We have found a balance between respect for the history of the site and expressive contemporary architecture. The new building will not compete with its surroundings, but will naturally add another layer to them,” says Roman Reiff, co-investor in Żurawia 8 and CEO of RR Enterprises.

The experienced Warsaw-based architectural studio APMD is also involved in the design process.

The project has a final and binding construction permit. The first residents are expected to move in in 2029.
