Multi Poland has extended the leasing contract with Carrefour hypermarket located in Multi-managed Pestka Shopping Centre, Poznań, Poland. The asset is owned by Henley Investments, a globally established and fast-growing investment firm. Multi Corporation, together with its Polish division Multi Poland, manages a total of over 80 commercial assets in Europe and Turkey.
The lease agreement with Carrefour in Galeria Pestka (Poznań) was extended. Carrefour hypermarket in Galeria Pestka occupies 9,504 sqm. This is the third deal with a Carrefour hypermarket successfully secured by Multi Poland over the last 18 months, following Magnolia Park shopping centre (Wrocław) and Sarni Stok shopping centre (Bielsko-Biała).
“Over the last seven years, we have made Galeria Pestka an attractive retail location in Poznań with a resilient and balanced tenant mix that will continue to perform well,” says Frederic Rouleau, Country Asset Manager Multi Poland. “During this time, we have expanded the retail and service offers to include attractive chain brands. There still are locations where classic large-area hypermarkets are successful. An example of such a store is Carrefour in Galeria Pestka which is located near Poznań’s largest housing estates. Carrefour hypermarket is a grocery store of the first choice for the local residents. I am convinced that under the new lease contract, Galeria Pestka will consistently increase its attractiveness.”
“We are very pleased to have agreed on favourable conditions for extending the lease contract for our hypermarket in Galeria Pestka. This contract marks the third successful transaction with Multi Poland in recent months,” says Agnieszka Prędka, Head of Asset & Lease Management at Carrefour Polska. “Our store has built a strong position in the local market and has many loyal customers. We are convinced that Multi Poland’s efforts to expand the tenant mix and the landlord’s promotion of the shopping centre will allow us to both attract new customers and further increase the satisfaction of the residents of Poznań with their shopping experience at Carrefour”, adds Prędka.
Galeria Pestka has been managed by Multi Poland since 2014. In 2021, the Centre’s new owner, Henley Investments, has extended the lease and management contract with Multi by three years.
Justin Meissel, Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director Europe, Henley Investments said: “The current retail real estate climate presents an attractive entry point for investment in well-located and well-managed properties. Our Polish debut investment last year with Galeria Pestka, Poznan, was an opportunistic off-market acquisition and illustrates Henley’s current interest in the retail sector. The shopping centre is anchored by convenience tenants including Carrefour and Bricomarche, and above all very well-located within its sub-market. The leasing contract with Carrefour confirms the asset’s potential.”
