Vienna-based company CC Real has opened Kontraloop, a leisure and entertainment flagship spanning approximately 2,000 sqm, at City Centre One Split. With this opening, the company marks another important milestone in the strategic expansion of experience-driven retail concepts in Europe. The opening follows a €22 million modernisation program that has further developed the centre into one of the most modern and sustainable retail destinations in the region.
“City Centre One Split has been a regional benchmark for years. With Kontraloop, we are strengthening this position by creating a future-oriented environment that brings together innovation and authentic experiences for our community,” says Sven Vorih, Managing Partner at CC Real.
Since its opening in 2010, City Centre One Split has developed into one of the most visited retail and leisure destinations in Dalmatia, with 6.5 million visitors annually, 60,000 sqm of space, and more than 200 tenants, including INTERSPAR, Müller, Peek & Cloppenburg, H&M, Mango, IKEA, C&A, McDonald’s and Cineplexx.
Kontraloop combines gaming, social competitive experiences, gastronomy and event spaces. Highlights include Split’s largest bowling facility with 12 lanes, complemented by darts, shuffleboard, billiards, table football and pinball machines. Five modular event zones, state-of-the-art AV technology, two bars, an outdoor terrace and seating for up to 300 guests create a flexible environment for a wide range of occasions.
The location supports locally driven footfall throughout the year and enables diversified revenue structures.
Kontraloop was developed in cooperation with TGP International, which played a key role in concept design, guest experience design, interior architecture, operational planning and the development of a contemporary food and beverage offering. The menu focuses on social dining, featuring Neapolitan pizza, premium burger options, sharing dishes, signature cocktails and a curated wine selection.
City Centre One Split is the first shopping centre in Croatia to be fully compliant with the EU Taxonomy and holds DGNB Gold certification. This places it among the most sustainable retail assets in Europe. The certification process was carried out by EU Taxonomy consultants and DGNB auditors from CC Real Project Management GmbH.
