Pasaż Grodziski retail park in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, being developed by Refield, has obtained a building permit. Its main tenant will be ALDI. Construction works will start in the first quarter of 2023.
The developer had been planning the construction of a retail park in the city for two years, during which arrangements were made regarding the specific location of this investment. Initial doubts related to the construction of the retail park resulted from different interpretations of the provisions of the Local Spatial Development Plan by the owner of the plot and the city authorities. Finally, the Voivode of Wielkopolska positively assessed the compliance of the planned investment with the provisions of the local development plan in this particular location and the investor obtained a final and valid building permit.
“We are grateful to the local authorities for the dialogue and cooperation aimed at developing the best possible solution. We are glad that we can contribute to the development of the city,” says Mateusz Świętochowski, Operations Director at Refield. “The first construction works will start at the beginning of the new year, and their completion is scheduled for November 2023.”
“Although we differed in the interpretation of the provisions of the local development plan adopted for this particular property, we thought from the beginning that new investors are welcome in the city. Therefore, we hope that Pasaż Grodziski will offer not only new shopping opportunities but above all, will encourage other investors to engage with our city,” says Piotr Hojan, Mayor of Grodzisk Wielkopolski.
Pasaż Grodziski will provide up to 10 tenants with lease space. The investment is already 80 percent leased. Residents of Grodzisk Wielkopolski and the surrounding area will gain access to the offer of completely new brands in the city. The grocery operator is the Aldi chain, which will open its first and only store in the Grodzisk district.
“Pasaż Grodziski met with a very positive response from tenants. Most of them will open their first stores in the city in this project. For us, it is a confirmation of Grodzisk’s commercial potential and very good news for the residents,” says Fabian Eryk Barbarowicz, President of the Management Board of Refield.
The company will also prepare the infrastructure – a properly developed car park, including a charging station for electric vehicles. The investment will also have the BREEAM certificate at the Very Good level.
