CTP has opened its state-of-the-art office building I in Brno’s Vlněna complex, which was created by revitalising a former brownfield site. The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities from clients, partners and the city. The 60-metre-high building, designed by architectural Studio acht, boasts innovative technologies including a drone mail system, which was presented with a test flight at the event.
Building I is a striking symbol of innovation and sustainability. Its unique glazed “sawtooth” façade is a technical uniqueness that has never been seen before in Europe. The façade maximises natural light and provides all staff with an attractive view of Brno. The control of the documentation and implementation of this façade was entrusted to MFS Group, a company with successful projects in London, Amsterdam and Paris.
“Building I represents the perfect combination of cutting-edge design, modern technology and sustainability. Its opening is a significant milestone for us and confirms our long-term vision to create spaces that support the growth of our clients and partners. I am delighted that we have been able to create this gem in Brno, a region that is key to CTP and where we have long supported the development of the local economy and communities,” said Michal Dospěl, Director of Construction for the South Moravia region at CTP.
The building features an advanced smart office concept. This includes, for example, intelligent lighting that automatically adapts to the number of people in the room, which not only brings high comfort but also energy savings. It also includes air quality control, controlled by intelligent systems for heating, cooling, heat recovery and humidity. Thanks to its technological equipment and quality design, the building is targeting the highest BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum and Wiredscore Platinum certifications, making it a passive building with minimal environmental impact.
“Building I is the result of our efforts to push the boundaries of architecture and technology. In the design process, we focused not only on aesthetics but also on functionality and sustainability. Its iconic glass façade and smart technologies make this building a unique working environment that will serve current and future generations. I am proud that we were able to work with CTP on a project that sets new standards for office buildings in Central Europe,” emphasized Václav Hlaváček, architect of Studio acht.
The new building now welcomes its first tenants, which include PKV BUILD, a leading player in energy consulting, which will occupy nearly 3,000 sqm of office space spread over four floors.
The highlight of the opening ceremony was the test flight of the drone, which symbolically delivered the first shipment directly to the roof of the building. This drone mail system is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic and Europe and opens up new possibilities in the field of parcel delivery. The system uses the unique Drone Helipad, which enables the safe receipt of parcels from drones or other unmanned systems. The navigation of the drones to the roof of the building is provided by laser sensors of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) technology.
