Colosseum Mall has signed with the German retailer DEICHMANN to open a 500 sqm store, as part of the current expansion plan of the commercial centre. The leader of the EU footwear market, with a network of over 100 stores across Romania, DEICHMANN comes one step closer to the community of North-West Bucharest, in an area of continuous rising retail and residential segments.
“The tenant’s mix designed for Colosseum Mall is based on a thorough understanding of the needs of the community and is shaped by the growing demand for retail in various categories that were missing in this area. Time is now the most valuable resource, and retailers who understand this context and develop their business as close as possible to their consumers, are the ones who have to earn in the long run. We started the year with results above expectations, as in January 2021 Colosseum registered a traffic increase of 3.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. DEICHMANN is without a doubt a brand desired by our community and we are looking forward to the opening,” said Doinita Ilie, MRICS Leasing Manager Colosseum Mall.
“DEICHMANN Romania has registered very good results in recent years and has permanently increased its network of stores in order to have the best coverage at a national level. We continue to focus on growing and optimizing our omnichannel channels. The opening of a new store in Colosseum Mall offers us the opportunity to address a new community and reconfirms our position as the market leader in this segment,” added Daniel Popa, CEO of DEICHMANN Romania.
The DEICHMANN store will be located on the fashion gallery of the mall and will be designed according to the latest store concepts of the brand.
The leasing process of the new commercial spaces from Colosseum Mall evolves with more than 85 percent of the spaces already leased. A premiere will be the launch of the first integrated Drive-Thru concept in the location. KFC is one of the brands that will join this concept and additionally open a unit inside the mall, in the food court area.
The opening of the current extension of Colosseum Mall is scheduled for the end of 2021. The next investment of Colosseum developer will be the first residential project next to the mall with 650 apartments and 3,500 sqm of high street retail units.
