Goethe-Institut, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach, pre-leased 30 percent of the D’OR office building in Bucharest, located on Calea Dorobantilor 32, a 6,000 sqm project of Primavera Development, which is due to be delivered next summer. The transaction was intermediated by the office division of Knight Frank Romania.
D’OR Offices is composed of three buildings: a heritage building with both historical and architectural value that will be restored, a multifunctional pavilion building and an A-class office building. This construction will be distributed on nine levels of 600 sqm each and will include 90 underground parking spaces. The building process gave a special importance to the principles of sustainability and energy efficiency (the building being BREEAM certified), as well to the rationality and flexibility elements of interior design.
“We were looking for an iconic building in a central location that is easily accessible for our patrons by metro and offers us enough space for six state-of-the-art classrooms as well as a small multifunctional complex for our library and cultural activities, like exhibitions or film screenings,” said Dr. Evelin Hust, Director of the Goethe-Institut Bucharest. “We are confident that we have found this space and are looking forward to welcoming all our friends as well as new enthusiasts interested in German language, as well as in the cultural and social life of Germany in our new institute next year.”

The Institute will lease part of the ground floor, the whole of the floor for its language department, the heritage building for the central office and the Pavilion, a separate 500 sqm building, where the Goethe- Institute’s multifunctional cultural space and library will be located.
