The property will be suited for enterprises from various sectors such as logistics, retail, e-commerce, distribution and manufacturing.
The Hillwood Łódź Górna is a logistic centre located in the southern part of the city of Łódź, Two A-class warehouses will have a total area of 163,000 sqm. The first, 75,000 sqm building, will be completed in November 2019. The project is expected to create hundreds of new jobs. Hillwood is already conducting talks with several prospective tenants.
In his opening speech, Hillwood’s Senior Vice-President Hubert Michalak expressed gratitude for the support the investment received from local authorities and institutions at all stages of the development process, from preparatory works to the construction phase.
“I would like to thank all of those who supported us since the early stages of the investment, and continued to do so when the construction works begun. I would especially like to recognize the dedication of the local authorities and public institutions in Łódź,” Mr Michalak said, addressing Mayor of Łódź Hanna Zdanowska.
Hanna Zdanowska congratulated the investors and contractors for the swift pace of construction works. The mayor assured of local authorities’ support for the logistics sector, which provides the city with a development stimulus, as the enterprises that set up their facilities in the city create new jobs and boost tax revenue.
“Every such investment is a significant one for us,” Hanna Zdanowska declared in her speech. “Łódź needs development opportunities and the logistics sector has provided them. Łódź has always been very conveniently located in the heart of Poland. However, only the creation of a modern road infrastructure transformed it into excellent location for this type of investments. I applaud you and wish you success in your business endeavours and further investments in the region. Investments like this one mean job creation, and increased tax revenue, which allow us to carry out larger and smaller projects for the benefit of our community,” she added.
Also Hillwood’s Senior Vice President stressed the qualities of the location of the new logistics centre, which is yet another Hillwood’s investment in Central Poland, after Głuchów, Kutno and Stryków.
“This site was selected due to its exceptional location,” Hubert Michalak highlighted. “Despite the fact that the logistics park is located within the Łódź city limit, the A1 highway is just a 10 min drive away, a trip that will be further reduced in time with the completion of Trasa Górna road – Hubert Michalak pointed out, referring to the city’s infrastructural project that will improve the accessibility of the Amber Highway from the city’s southern districts. Our clients from retail, e-commerce, distribution, and manufacturing sectors, as well as the employees using the public transport will benefit from an easy and fast access to Hillwood’s logistic centre. The unwavering demand form local and international companies that want to locate their facilities in the Łódź metropolitan area and Central Poland makes this region a top priority for Hillwood,” Michalak added.
