NEINVER, the Spanish company specialised in property investment, development and management—Europe’s second-largest operator of outlet centres and the market leader in Poland and Spain’s outlet sector—has entered into an agreement with Carrefour Polska to manage the Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz centre, in the north of Poland. The outlet centre, scheduled to open in spring 2018 will be the first and only retail centre of this kind in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie province.
NEINVER will be responsible for the centre’s daily operations, tenant coordination and marketing. Moreover, the company has just joined forces with JLL to jointly lease the centre’s retail space. As a result of this partnership, first negotiations with well-known international and Polish brands are nearing completion.
“NEINVER developed Poland’s first outlet centre, FACTORY Ursus, 14 years ago and now we have teamed up with Carrefour to introduce the outlet concept in Bydgoszcz, one of the country’s largest cities, which has an excellent location and catchment area. We are proud that Carrefour has trusted NEINVER, our know-how and specialised skills. I am positive that our 20 years of experience, combined with Carrefour’s background, will contribute to the success of Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz as a popular shopping destination, meeting the expectations of local and regional residents,” said Carlos González, NEINVER Managing Director.
Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz joins the portfolio of current projects in which NEINVER is involved across Europe, such as the development of Viladecans The Style Outlets in Barcelona (opening in October), Amsterdam The Style Outlets, and Werl The Style Outlets in Germany.
Ronan Martin, Deputy President for Expansion and Shopping Centres at Carrefour, said, “Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz is the first outlet in Carrefour’s portfolio so we decided to entrust the management of the facility to the company with many years of international experience in the industry. Neinver is the leading manager of the best outlets in Poland and Europe, and therefore we have full confidence in our decision. We hope that the development of Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz is a big step towards meeting the expectations of our customers and tenants, who seek retail concepts following best European standards. We wish to ensure top-quality management for this centre, and that is why we have decided to work with a highly experienced company.”
Carrefour Poland owns and operates a network of 20 shopping malls in Poland with a total area of over 230,000 GLA. Malls belonging to the company are in very good locations across the country and offer a wide and diverse range of tenants. In line with its strategy, Carrefour made dynamic investment in the expansion and remodeling of their managed objects. Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz is the first outlet in the Carrefour’s portfolio and well-known international and Polish brands already confirmed readiness to enter into lease agreements.
Metropolitan Outlet in Bydgoszcz, which is being built on the site of an existing shopping centre, will feature 17,000 sqm GLA of retail space, of which 11,000 sqm GLA will host 60 outlet stores from popular Polish and international brands. The centre will also include services such as food and beverages, a children’s playground and a fitness club. The anchor tenant will be a 5,000 sqm Carrefour grocery store. A petrol station operated by Carrefour will be located right next to the centre’s building. The mix of these elements is bound to increase nearby residents’ frequency of visits.
