P3, long-term investor, developer, owner and manager of logistics properties in Europe is expanding by an additional 3,109 sqm the warehouse in the P3 Piotrków park, constituting the main sorting office of InPost.
InPost, the logistics operator in which some of the largest American investment funds have invested (Advent International and KKR), has been at P3 Piotrków park since 2009. In September 2016, going the extra mile to meet the expectations of the Client, P3 handed over a 15,300 sqm facility with 8,000 sqm of loading and unloading area, 5,600 m2 of warehouse space, and 1,700 sqm of office space. Due to the firm’s growing needs, it turns out that this space is no longer enough today.
Piotr Bzowski, Leasing & Development Director for P3 Logistic Parks in Poland, said: “I’m very pleased that P3 Piotrków park’s excellent location in Poland is making Clients want to stay, develop, and expand the areas occupied by them. We have yet again met the requirements of our long-term partner and proposed flexible solutions to best use the additional space and ensure its full integration with the existing structure”.
As many as 33 docks have been planned on the 3.109 m2 as an extension to the existing warehouse, giving a total of 78 docks with 7 ground-level dock gates. Increasing the surface area will allow InPost to install yet another sorter – the third one now, in the warehouse. Thanks to this, the volumes of handled post and the employment will increase by 20 percent.
The extension was organised so as not to disrupt the operations already carried out at the facility. The handing over for use of the new part of the warehouse is planned for the 4th quarter of 2019. Cushman & Wakefield acted as an agent in the lease transaction.
Rafał Brzoska, Managing Director at InPost, commented: “We are developing our infrastructure very intensively – not only within the new locations of Paczkomaty InPost. Modern logistic base makes us one of the few operators who can deliver shipments in D+1 mode in such a stable way. New sorting facilities and significant expansion of our central hub are the response to the rapidly increasing volumes of shipments handled. We also invest in technologies, mobile applications, the fleet of electric cars and offer innovative services such as BankoPaczkomat or the delivery of groceries. That is why customers more and more often indicate InPost as the best operator on the Polish market.”
Joanna Sinkiewicz, Partner, Head of the Industrial & Logistics Agency, Cushman & Wakefield Poland, explained: “The growth dynamics on the courier services market outstrips the prognoses and even the most optimistic assumptions. This is largely down to the development of e-commerce sales. Additionally, the parcel locker service, which has really taken off among online shoppers, translates into InPost’s building infrastructure needs. The extension of the central sorting office is a natural consequence of this”.
P3 Piotrków is one of the largest warehouse parks in Central Poland. The park is located in Wola Bykowska, near Piotrków Trybunalski, at the A1 motorway and E75 and E67 routes.
