Porto Montenegro and IFC Partner for Sustainable Growth

Porto Montenegro, the integrated waterfront destination and maritime services hub developed by Adriatic Marinas, has entered into a landmark strategic partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

IFC’s $80 million investment will help advance the continued development of Porto Montenegro while helping create jobs, attract investment, strengthen local supply chains, and reinforce Montenegro’s tourism and maritime sectors.

Tourism accounts for approximately 26% of Montenegro’s GDP and 22% of employment. The project will help support year-round economic activity, reducing reliance on seasonal tourism. The investment will promote higher standards in water use, waste management, and energy efficiency. The redevelopment is expected to create new opportunities for local businesses, suppliers, and communities.

The project will also promote the adoption of internationally recognised environmental and building standards while helping preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the Bay of Kotor.
