Colliers International is to manage the Rondo Wiatraczna shopping centre in Warsaw. The 11,000 sqm centre is the 7th building that Colliers has taken under management this year.
Rondo Wiatraczna is a modern retail-office-residential complex with a total area of 56,000 sqm, of which the retail part occupies 11,000 sqm. It is located in the centre of the Praga Południe district, on the site of the old Universam Grochów department store, which in the 1970s and 1980s was one of the most visited retail centres in Praga. Since February 2018, the district’s residents have been enjoying once more a wide range of retail and service outlets. Tenants include: Pepco, KiK, Rossmann, Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Media Expert. The new shopping centre reflects the retail traditions of the site, which can be seen in the return of the Społem supermarket.
“Warsaw’s Praga district and the Wiatraczna roundabout have once again become trendy parts of the city that are full of life. We are glad that the portfolio of buildings managed by us has expanded with yet another attractive and modern building. The Rondo Wiatraczna shopping centre is the seventh building that Colliers has taken under management this year, and we will not stop there. At present, we manage in total over 1,185,000 sqm, but it is possible that we might end the year at over 1,250,000 sqm,” says Agnieszka Krzekotowska, the director of Real Estate Management Services at Colliers International.
The investment was carried out by Dantex, a developer from Warsaw with rich experience in residential, office and commercial construction. Since the 1990s, the company has consistently carried out projects in Warsaw’s real estate market and was the first to see the potential of the post-industrial areas of the city’s Wola and Mokotów districts. The company manages over 40,000 sqm of its own modern office space. The main sector of current expansion remains the development of residential projects in attractive locations around the capital.
