Skanska Property Czech Republic has expanded its portfolio of commercial real estate in February, completing the acquisition of a Karlín property which used to house the Praga car repair shop in the past. Skanska is planning to replace it with a modern administrative building, Praga Studios, linking it seamlessly to its adjacent Corso Court project.
Skanska acquired the building from the M2 Real Estate group. Apart from a newly developed office project, Praga Studios will also create a link between Pernerova and Křižíkova streets. A completely new area will be developed at the site and it will significantly facilitate the passage as well as create a lively piazza in the centre of old inner Karlín for both the employees and local residents.
“Karlín is currently one of the most dynamically growing Prague districts with excellent accessibility of the city centre by public transport. We have decided to further invest in this district and contribute to its further development. Our investment will not only create new job opportunities, but also expand the range of services available to local residents,” said Marie Passburg, Managing Director of Skanska Property Czech Republic.
Apart from modern office space, the project with the total floor area of nearly 12,000 sqm on seven floors will offer flexibility and space for thriving for all kinds of businesses. The tenants will also be able to enjoy the garden adjacent to neighbouring Corso Court building, providing an opportunity to for example play table tennis or chess. Top floors will offer terraces with stunning views of Karlín, Prague castle or Petřín hill.
In their buildings, Skanska continues to include many innovative features and each building is getting more and more advanced, which is highly appreciated by the tenants. Praga Studios will be no exception. Tenants will for example be able to access all services in the building and its vicinity through a custom-developed mobile application.
