WDP Expands Industrial Portfolio with Major Acquisition in Romania
WDP has acquired industrial projects and land from Globalworth and Global Vision for around €110 million. The acquisition includes four warehouses and light industrial projects, plus land with a development potential of 300,000 sqm in Romania. This purchase boosts WDP’s Romanian portfolio to 2 million sqm. Global Vision will now focus on green energy projects and a new real estate investment platform.
“The strategic landbank in Constanta positions WDP for long-term growth amidst the region’s projected infrastructure investments of approximately €10 billion. These include investments in port terminals and logistics capabilities, security and NATO presence, new highways and preparing for Schengen Area accession, bolstering its role in global trade route diversification and Black Sea access,” says Jeroen Biermans, Country Manager of WDP Romania.

City Point Targówek Expansion Underway
A joint venture between Partners Group and Peakside Capital Advisors has commenced the construction of the C2 facility at City Point Targówek in Warsaw. The new 25,000 sqm light industrial building, aims for BREEAM Outstanding and LEED Platinum certifications. The project revitalizes a historic industrial area, incorporating energy-saving technologies and green spaces. Future phases will add four more buildings, expanding the park to 100,000 sqm.
Roman Skowroński, Managing Director of Peakside Capital Advisors comments: “Brownfield re-developments such as the one in Targówek are more environmentally friendly because they revitalize already developed land rather than urbanizing new land. This helps reduce pressure on new land and contributes to the sustainable development of the city.”
Ghelamco to Build Mixed-Use Complex in Gdynia’s Marina
Ghelamco, in partnership with the Polish Yachting Association, is set to construct Nova Marina Gdynia, a mixed-use building near Gdynia’s South Pier. The five-storey, 20,000 sqm facility will feature yachting amenities, headquarters for local clubs, and storage for yachts. The design integrates seamlessly with Gdynia’s modernist architectural heritage. Construction will start in late 2024/early 2025, with completion expected in 2027.
“The building’s architecture is the result of a long collaboration with the city’s authorities and the city’s conservation officer, and together we have developed a thoroughly Gdynia-like design that we hope will become a centre for Polish sailing,” says Jarosław Zagórski, Managing Director, Ghelamco Poland.
Tomasz Chamera, President of the Polish Yachting Association, added “We finally have a chance to build a genuine facility that will respond to the needs of sailors and allow us even more effectively to fulfil the statutory objectives of our organisation.”
