A leading plastics maker will occupy a total of about 11,200 sqm of modern warehouse and manufacturing space at the MLP Łódź logistics project. The completed facility will be handed over to the tenant later this July.
Last year Wirthwein Polska already signed up for a lease covering more than 5,600 sqm at MLP Łódź, but it recently decided to expand the leased space by another 5,600 sqm. The addition was possible because the project is being delivered partly on a speculative basis and still had some vacant space to offer. As a result, the manufacturer of plastic parts will occupy a total of about 11,200 sqm of modern space, of which some 10,700 sqm will serve as a production floor and warehouse, while the remainder will accommodate office space and staff amenities. The construction works are virtually nearing an end, with the handover of the dedicated facility to the tenant scheduled for later this July.
The business of Wirthwein Polska involves the processing of plastics by injection moulding. Drawing on the latest technologies and the know-how of its highly qualified staff, it makes plastic components for customers across the home appliances, automotive, electrical, power engineering and sanitary ware sectors. The Polish plant is the largest of a total of 22 factories operated by the Wirthwein Group in Europe, Asia and the US.
“MLP Łódź is one of our newest logistics schemes, built in line with the strategy of sustainable and energy-efficient development. It includes a number of state-of-the-art solutions for the use of renewable energy, carbon footprint reduction and so on. What is more, thanks to its location near the very heart of the country, at the intersection of some major transit routes, the offered space is hugely popular. Delivering the project partly on a speculative basis, we have been able to flexibly respond to the growing needs of our new tenant,” said Tomasz Pietrzak, Leasing Director Poland at MLP Group S.A.
“Due to high demand for the plastic injection moulded parts we have decided to double our space at MLP Park Łódź. Still this year we are planning to start new projects in Home Appliance and Sanitary sector. We have chosen Łódź as a place for further development. Ideal location in the centre of Poland, qualified employees and most of all neighbourhood of our key customers is a significant advantage. Our production and warehouse area in Łódź will grow to more than 22,000 sqm and our employees will increase to almost 500 employees. Which is making us a leading company in plastics production in the region and one of the leaders in Poland,” said Krzysztof Gorzechowski, Director of Sales and Project Management Poland at Wirthwein Polska.
