Zdrofit, part of the Benefit Systems network, has opened its first fitness club in Lublin at Galeria Olimp. The company plans to launch a second location on Kraśnicka Avenue. This expansion aligns with the recovery trend in Poland’s fitness industry, driven by growing public awareness of the benefits of physical activity for overall well-being.
The new Lublin club marks a significant step in Zdrofit’s growth in eastern Poland. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities, diverse training zones, an extensive range of group classes, and tech-enabled support, the club caters to both fitness enthusiasts and beginners. Later this year, Lublin residents will have access to another location, broadening the city’s fitness options. The first Lublin club, located at Galeria Olimp, spans nearly 1,500 sqm and features modern training zones, including functional fitness, free weights, machines, cardio, stretching, and recovery areas. It also offers a large group fitness studio, a wide variety of classes, and a relaxation zone with a sauna.
The second club will cover 1,300 sqm and include additional zones for functional fitness, free weights, machines, cardio, stretching, cycling, and combat training. A standout feature will be an enhanced relaxation zone with a dry sauna, icefall, and salt wall. Zdrofit’s expansion strategy emphasizes convenience. The network, now with over 100 locations across Poland, focuses on placing clubs in easily accessible areas like shopping centres, office complexes, and residential neighbourhoods. In Lublin, the first club is in a shopping mall, while the second will be part of a mixed-use office building.
“Our goal is to be where our clients are, ensuring accessibility in both large cities and suburban areas. This approach enables us to reach residents of fast-growing regions with limited access to high-quality fitness spaces,” explains Tomasz Groń, Managing Director of Fitness Club Networks at Benefit Systems.
Zdrofit’s growth reflects the broader recovery of the fitness industry post-pandemic. According to the “European Health and Fitness Market 2024” report by Deloitte and EuropeActive, the sector in Europe is experiencing increased revenue, membership, and club openings. Similarly, in Poland, the industry is rebounding, spurred by rising awareness of physical activity’s role in health.
“Fitness in Poland has immense potential, as seen in the changing habits of Poles,” says Groń, referencing the MultiSport Index 2024 report. “The percentage of people exercising at least three times a week rose from 30 percent in 2017 to 36 percent in 2024, underscoring a growing lifestyle shift.”
With a market penetration rate of 8 percent, Poland’s fitness industry has significant room to grow compared to countries like Germany or Scandinavia, where rates reach 12-21 percent. This sets the stage for continued expansion in the coming years.
