At a recent Groundbreaking Ceremony 7R and InSite Real Estate officially started a new project for BWI Group. The Build-to-Suit research and development facility will be located in close proximity to the international airport in Balice and the Hilton Kraków Airport Hotel. The 11,000 sqm building will provide 6,000 sqm of state-of-the-art laboratory space and 5,000 sqm of office space.
The energy efficient, environmentally friendly building will feature a technologically advanced gas turbine co-generation system to produce the energy required to power, heat, cool, and ventilate the building. An exacting nine-month project schedule will be used to meet BWI’s December 2019 delivery requirement.
“It is the first such technologically advanced facility for 7R and one of the few such commercial projects in Poland. Thanks to our extensive experience in delivering warehouse and industrial buildings built to customers’ specific needs we were able to suggest and implement many innovative solutions to meet BWI’s expectations,” said Bartłomiej Krawiecki, 7R SA Board Member.
The BWI facility is the first of 7R and InSite joint projects. The partnership is built on 7R’s proven Polish real estate market and development expertise and experience, and InSite’s extensive real estate development expertise, tenant relationships and financial resources.
“This project represents an exciting first transaction for InSite’s partnership with 7R. We look forward to successfully completing the BWI Krakow project and to continue working with 7R to meet the build-to-suit facility needs of both Polish and multinational tenants in Poland,” said Kevin Van den Daelen, Director of European Industrial Property for InSite Real Estate.
For the global manufacturer of car suspension systems, BWI Group, a modern ride and development center means a better and faster response to the needs of its customers – car manufacturers.
“Technical Center Kraków core activity is passive shock absorbers development. New facility will integrate two cracovian branch offices employing currently 460 people. Apart from the office area, prototype center and laboratories will be significantly increased with size which is a key factor for our further development. Efficiency of test, validation, material and metrology laboratories will be much more improved which means more projects to be implemented in shorter period of time. Our technology development team looking for innovative solutions in the field of shock absorbers mass reduction and ride & handling improvements will get better research tools to deliver technologies expected by the global automotive industry,” explained Krzysztof Kucharczak, Director of Kraków Technical Center, BWI Group.
