CBRE has been entrusted with managing and leasing the Futurum Hradec Králové shopping centre, which has just been purchased by CPI Property Group. This further strengthens the existing cooperation between CPI Property Group and CBRE, making Futurum CPI’s fifth shopping centre managed by CBRE. This has confirmed CBRE’s position as the largest manager of shopping centres in the Czech Republic, responsible for the real estate of third parties and a strong player in the leasing retail space sector.
CBRE also provided CPI Property Group with investment advice when acquiring this centre. Futurum Hradec Králové is already the fifth retail property that CBRE manages for CPI Property Group, one of the largest investors in commercial real estate in the CEE region, along with Futurum Kolín, Nisa Liberec, Královo Pole Brno and Olympia Pilsen. Just in the local market, CBRE has begun to manage the Letňany Shopping Center, the Děčín Brewery Center and the Central Most since the beginning of 2017. Together with the recent acquisition of Olympia Plzeň, CBRE manages 13 major local shopping centres, including Campus Square Brno, Varyada Karlovy Vary and Vivo! Hostivař.
Katarína Brydone, Head of Retail at CBRE, added: “We’re delighted that we were able to provide advice on acquiring the Futurum Hradec Králové centre and we were selected to manage and lease it. This business centre is popular with the locals and has great business potential for the future. Our company has also long been associated with this centre, as we managed the centre before it was sold to Meyer Bergman, and we’re happy to return to the project portfolio after a four-year break.”
Futurum Hradec Králové was opened in 2000 as a place for shopping, leisure activities and meeting up with people. The shopping centre has roughly 39,100 sq metres of leasable space made up of more than a hundred shops, a multi-cinema and a rich range of restaurants and bistros, with 14,000 sq metres belonging to the Tesco hypermarket alone. Futurum Hradec Králové is the dominant shopping centre in the Hradec Králové region. The main tenants of the Futurum Hradec Králové shopping centre include CineStar, Tesco, Datart, H&M, C&A, Intersport, Lindex, New Yorker, Humanic, CCC and many other brand names. The Starbucks café chain opened its first branch in East Bohemia there last year.
