On the 10th September the €25 million extension of Galeria Pomorska in Bydgoszcz, owned by Resolution Property, was officially opened for customers. As a result the shopping centre has been enlarged by 10,000 sqm and the offer was enriched by 40 new stores and service points.
With the opening of the extension of Galeria Pomorska, customers of the centre are now able to shop at a wide range of new shops including: Bershka, Stradivarius, Ecco, Medicine, Home & You, House, Sinsay, Coccodrillo, Medicine, Diverse, Bytom, Toys Box, English Home, Sachownica, Pepco, Pawo, Change Lingerie and Briji. In addition the extended centre sees a number of existing retailers at Galeria Pomorska open new larger stores offering the widest range to customers. Retailers expanding into new larger store include Reserved, Cropp, KappAhl, Carry, Grycan, Wojas, Rylko, Rossmann.
Among the invited guests who took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony that took place in front of Galeria Pomorska’s new mall, there were representatives of the owner, management, contractors, retailers, the media and the local authorities represented by the Vice-President of Bydgoszcz, Łukasz Niedźwiecki. The extension of Galeria Pomorska is the first major development in Poland undertaken by owner Resolution Property.
“Galeria Pomorska was the first shopping centre in Poland in which we were engaged. When intending to buy it we already had a plan of revitalization and extension of the asset. Back then Galeria Pomorska was the shopping centre of the so-called second generation where the commercial offer required significant improvement. We are proud of the final result of our efforts and we do hope that thanks to us Galeria Pomorska will continue to serve its customers well for many years,” said Shane Scott, Partner at Resolution Property.

We are impressed with the completed extension achieved by Resolution Property and the contractors, and we also would also like to thank them for taking the needs of our customers into account during the extension works. In parallel with the opening of the extension today we are also delighted to have completed the modernisation of our hypermarket making it the most modern and attractive in Bydgoszcz, not only in terms of the innovative commerce solutions we’ve introduced, but also the high tech energy saving technologies.”
The changes in Galeria Pomorska started in 2011 when the foodcourt was modernised and extended and this was followed in 2012 when the first Helios multipliex cinema in Bydgoszcz opened above the foodcourt. The extension unveiled today was started in mid-2013 and carried out in phases in order to minimalize the impact on the everyday functioning of the centre. In the first stage the additional car park with 160 parking places was completed next to the Carrefour hypermarket. In the second stage the multi-level parking was created, expanding the parking capacity to over 1,400 spaces with 700 being under-cover In the third and final stage of the extension the new shopping mall was created and the existing gallery modernised. With this we officially finished the extension although over the coming months we welcome more new and enlarged retailers at Galeria Pomorska including Deichmann, Big Star, Empik, and CCC.
Balmain Asset Management is the Asset Manager of Galeria Pomorska. Savills is the Property Manager. JLL was responsible for the commercialization of the extension together with Balmain Asset Management. Budimex was the general contractor of the extension. The project was supervised by cPM. Geokop was responsible for tenants’ coordination. The new part of the shopping centre was created based on the projects made by Colman Architects from London and Atelier.com from Warsaw.
