Harden Construction has completed the City Logistics Poznań III project, the largest building of its kind in Poland, which has now been handed over for use by Raben Logistics Polska.
City Logistics Poznań III covers nearly 44,000 sqm, making it the largest facility of its kind in Poland for handling last-mile logistics. The entire complex functions as a storage, production, and service facility. The site also features a designated area with controlled temperature and humidity, spanning 4,200 sqm.
The building, overseen by Harden Construction, was completed in just under seven months and was built specifically for Raben Logistics Polska. The facility primarily aims to support the development of contract logistics and warehousing services, as well as the execution of additional services such as co-packing and co-manufacturing.
The warehouse includes 41 loading docks and is equipped with Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) system trucks and battery-powered Li-Ion forklifts. To accommodate the use of VNA trucks in narrow aisles, the surface was adapted according to VDMA guidelines.
“We are pleased that Harden Construction was able to execute this investment. Thanks to the efforts of our entire team and the dedication of our subcontractors, we were able to deliver a top-quality warehouse space that meets all of the investor’s requirements in a short time,” said Łukasz Kozerski, Operations Director at Harden Construction.
City Logistics Poznań III was designed to meet the requirements of BREEAM certification at the Excellent level and the standards of FM Global, as mandated by the Raben Group for the general contractor. The building features systems that reduce energy and water consumption, and the roof structure is prepared for the potential expansion of a photovoltaic installation.
“From the very beginning, the Raben Group emphasized that the warehouse must meet sustainable construction requirements and be as environmentally friendly as possible. We knew exactly what solutions to implement to meet the investor’s expectations. City Logistics Poznań III incorporates systems that limit energy and water consumption, and the roof has been prepared for the future installation of solar panels to bring the building closer to zero emissions,” said Paweł Fiuczek, Managing Director at Harden Construction.
The building, developed for the Raben Group, has been fully leased by Mars Wrigley, a long-standing partner of Raben. The Mars Wrigley plant, located next to the new warehouse, is one of the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world, producing chewing gum and mints.
