Hogan Lovells advises Prologis on the largest global transaction on the logistics and warehouse market in 2018 – EuropaProperty

The Warsaw Hogan Lovells office advised Prologi, the world’s largest owner, manager, and developer of logistics and warehousing facilities on the sale of a large logistics centres portfolio in Poland, as part of the global transaction, to a leading Asian property company.

In terms of value, this is probably the largest global transaction on the logistics and warehouse market in 2018.

The Polish part of the transaction was led by legal adviser Bartosz Clemenz, Counsel in the Real Estate Department of the Warsaw Hogan Lovells office. The multidisciplinary team of real estate and merger & acquisition lawyers was coordinated by advocate Marek Wroniak (Partner heading the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions Department), and advocate Marek Grodek (Partner heading the Real Estate Department). The multidisciplinary team consisted of: legal counsel trainee Adam Nowosielski, legal adviser Mateusz Mazurkiewicz, legal adviser Ewa Kraszewska, advocate Piotr Kwasiborski, lawyer Michał Białobrzeski, lawyer Paweł Gnaś, advocate Marta Popis, legal adviser Damian Gadomski, and advocate trainee Marcin Pytkowski. From the tax side, the transaction was supervised by Partner Andrzej Dębiec and Counsel Zbigniew Marczyk. Counsel Piotr Skurzyński, heading Antitrust/Competition Practice, was responsible for issues related to competition law.

“This was a cross-border transaction that covered seven jurisdictions in Europe: Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Italy and Luxembourg, as well as a dozen US states. In addition, it was the Polish commercial real estate market entry for the leading Asian property company, and probably the largest transaction so far, involving Asian capital on the Polish real estate market. Our multidisciplinary teams of lawyers from Poland, the United States, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Italy, and Luxembourg all cooperated within the transaction. This transaction has strengthened our leading position on the multi-jurisdictional transaction market in the commercial real estate market,” said Hogan Lovells.
