IWG, a global operator of flexible offices that includes brands such as Regus and Spaces in Poland, continues its dynamic expansion on the Polish office market. In 2018 alone, the company secured contracts for over 18,000 sqm of serviced area in nine locations. Furthermore, IWG’s future plans are even more ambitious.
The IWG family’s first Polish serviced office was opened in the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw in the 1990s. Today, IWG has over 30 locations throughout the country and is the undisputed leader with an almost 20 percent market share. JLL advised IWG on the selection of locations and negotiating contracts for the vast majority of IWG offices in Poland.
“Currently there is a great deal of interest in flexible office space on the market, and IWG is well positioned to respond to these needs. IWG’s portfolio, with a total area of approximately 50,000 sqm, appeals to a large number of prospective clients – looking for either smaller spaces in prestigious locations or larger offices in or outside the city centre,” commented Jarosław Kwiecień Senior Consultant, Tenant Representation, JLL.
An innovation on the Polish market, introduced by IWG last year, is Spaces offices, the world’s largest coworking supplier of creative work space. Unlike other companies in this sector, Spaces offers a culture that goes beyond business logistics by producing a creative work environment with a unique entrepreneurial spirit. Offices are characterized by a modern design that supports a comfortable working environment with separate areas for work that requires a quieter environment, business meetings, and sharing meal time with other users of the office space. The first Spaces office was opened in Centrum Marszałkowska in Warsaw.
“We have ambitious plans for our brands. We continue to expand Regus, but we are also focusing on opening new Spaces offices. We want them to be in the best locations and in modern projects, not only in Warsaw. The best example of this direction is the lease agreement recently concluded in Wroclavia mixed use scheme. In addition, we have expanded the office in Centrum Marszałkowska by another 2,000 sqm. Its total area will be over 6,000 sqm, and it will be our largest office in Poland. And that’s not all – we will soon inform the market about further contracts,” concluded Rafał Gabteni, IWG Area Director.
