According to the schedule, the construction of the 4-storey underground of the Mennica Legacy Tower at the junction of Prosta and Żelazna streets in Warsaw has been completed. The prestigious investment is carried out by Golub GetHouse and Mennica Polska S.A.
The construction of Mennica Legacy Tower started in November 2016. One year later, at the end of November 2017, the investment’s general contractor, Warbud S.A., completed construction of the four-storey underground part of the office complex. Actually, the first vertical elements are now being put in place on the ground level. At the same time, masonry works have started at the underground levels. Work that was recently carried out on the construction site includes the removal of temporary constructions made for the maintenance of slit walls.
“The moment when the building finally rises above the ground level and starts to climb up at a quick pace is always tremendously exciting and expected by every investor. Fast construction rate is already noticeable for every observer. From now on, the subsequent schedule plans for one above-ground level (of the 32-storey tower construction) to be completed per week. In less than eight months, the entire 140-meter tall tower structure will be ready. We are very glad that Mennica Legacy Tower has reached the ground level without any obstacles and on time – despite the fact that the construction of the underground was very demanding due to the proximity of the subway and difficult ground conditions. Works has not been disrupted even by the discovery of bomb from the Second World War. We are pleased that despite the difficulties, general contractor Warbud is keeping term of the contract. At the construction site, ACS self-climbing shuttering system, which will be used in the tower to protect against strong wind at high altitudes, is currently underway,” said Piotr Turchoński, Development Director at Golub GetHouse.
A 140-meter tall tower with a neighboring 43-meter tall Western building will offer a total of 65,630 sqm of modern lease space. Project was designed by the renowned Chicago-based architectural firm Goettsch Partners, which decided to work with a well-established design consultant Epstein.
Mennica Legacy Tower will combine unique architecture, functionality and top-quality finishing materials. Both buildings will feature advanced technological systems that will increase the continuity and reliability of building systems as well as improve the security of tenants. The entire investment will be completed in line with the demanding requirements of the BREAAM international certificate with ‘Outstanding’ rating. The entire complex will be delivered in autumn of 2019.
