Elektrokontakt Romania (EKR), a subsidiary of ELEKTROKONTAKT GMBH, is the new tenant in Mureș City Logistics, a modern industrial project in the Mureș area. This milestone achieves a 100 percent occupancy rate for the strategically located facility developed by Globalworth and Global Vision.
EKR, one of the world’s leading suppliers of electrical cables for the automotive industry worldwide, anchors its operations at Mureș City Logistics. From this pivotal location, EKR will exclusively manufacture the electrical cables for the Mercedes car division.
The top tier provider for the automotive sector secured a wide 14,735 sqm for a 10-year period in the industrial park developed and owned by Globalworth and Global Vision.
The new lease signifies that Mureș City Logistics, a joint venture light industrial park by Globalworth and Global Vision, is now fully occupied, marking a significant achievement for both real estate companies. It also signals confidence in Târgu Mureș as an emerging hub for logistics and light industry.
“Mureș City Logistics reaching full occupancy is a pivotal milestone for us at Globalworth and signifies the strength of our partnership with Global Vision. Welcoming EKR, a subsidiary of the globally renowned ELEKTROKONTAKT GMBH, not only underscores the park’s strategic appeal but also validates Târgu Mureș as an emerging hub for logistics and light industry. As we continue to focus on smart, strategic investments, we aim to be facilitators of progress, both locally in Târgu Mureș and across Central and Eastern Europe,” said Mihai Zaharia, Head of Investments Romania / Group Capital Markets Director at Globalworth.
“We have reached yet another milestone by leasing the entire facility of Mureș City Logistics, the most modern hub for seamless transportation and connectivity in the Mureș area. By establishing this strong business ecosystem, Global Vision in partnership with Globalworth plays a role in fostering the prosperity of both the local and regional communities. This achievement was also possible due to the good infrastructure and skilled workforce in the region. We are proudly welcoming EKR into our business community,” said Sorin Preda, CEO and Founder of Global Vision.
The agency facilitating this deal was Colliers, a trustworthy partner for many lease projects in Globalworth’s and Global Vision’s portfolios.
“We take pride in the active role we played in this transaction, which holds significant importance, especially in such a competitive and closely interconnected I&L market. The size of this transaction is not only significant in terms of the area involved but also in terms of the social and economic impact it will bring. With a particular emphasis on production, this transaction contributes to the creation of a significant number of new jobs, thus contributing to the development of the economic and social infrastructure of the local community. We thank our partners at Elektrokontakt for their trust and for the exceptional collaboration with the Globalworth and Global Vision teams,” says Victor Cosconel, Head of Office & Industrial Agencies at Colliers.
