Panattoni has completed the development of the BTS logistics centre for DSV Solutions in Skarbimierz. The facility totals 8,260 sqm. The warehouse section (7,500 sqm) has been divided into 3 segments – the ambient zone is used to store packaging and production support materials, and the other two house a chocolate warehouse and gum and candy warehouse – supplied by the Mondelēz International factories operating nearby.
The project complies with the requirements of HACCP, that is the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System. It has additionally been furnished with a modern temperature control technology using pyrometry mapping – the system provides information on air temperature and humidity status. As a result, parameters can be controlled remotely, keeping the temperature at a stable level, between 10 and 20 degrees, and 65 percent air humidity.
Moreover, for the purposes of the customer’s operations, the height of the hall has been increased up to 12 metres, and the floor can withstand loading up to 8 tons per square metre. The occupier will also be able to make use of 11 docks. Apart from the warehouse section, DSV Solutions has gained access to 225 sqm of office space.
The project in Skarbimierz was full of challenges, including the advanced technologies, short completion time and, on top of that, the introduction of the state of the epidemic. However, it did not prevent Panattoni from delivering the finished logistics centre on time, that is in early April.
“Our trilateral collaboration with DSV Solutions and Mondelēz International has been a show of professionalism. Faced with the pandemic and the resulting restrictions, we have shown that we are perfectly able to cope in tough circumstances, too. We have delivered the facility on time, and the customer launched its logistics operations 2 weeks early. I am proud of both our team and our partners,” commented Marek Foryński, Managing Director BTS Group from Panattoni.
