Hotspot, an established office space operator in Bucharest, has exceeded 5,000 sqm of flexible workspace across its two current locations, Hotspot Workhub and Hotspot Skyhub. As part of the company’s development plans, Andreas Schlote, founder of Hotspot and with over four decades of experience in the real estate sector, is taking over the strategic management of the business to accelerate expansion and strengthen the company’s position in the premium office space segment in Bucharest.
Under his leadership, Hotspot will accelerate the identification of new development opportunities in Bucharest, with the company already exploring the possibility of opening a new location within a premium office building.
“Hotspot was launched as a response to a fundamental shift in the way that companies use office space. We launched Hotspot Workhub in 2020 at The Mark building, choosing a central location near Victoriei Square to provide access to a flexible, full-service work environment tailored to the market’s new demands. From the very beginning, we aimed to develop more than just a workspace; we built an ecosystem that combines private offices with common areas, meeting rooms, event facilities, support services, and networking opportunities, all within a setting that fosters organisational growth and efficiency. The constant evolution of demand confirms the relevance of this model, and in the long term, we aim to accelerate Hotspot’s expansion through new locations, diversify the services offered to tenants, and consolidate the company’s position as one of the leading operators of premium flexible office spaces in Bucharest,” said Andreas Schlote, Founder of Hotspot.
Andreas Schlote previously coordinated technical consulting, due diligence, fit-out, and real estate development projects across several European markets. Schlote is also the founder of REC Partners, a company specialising in technical and strategic consulting for the real estate sector, as well as REC Immpuls, a company active in project management and interior design for office buildings.
Today, the two locations feature over 550 workstations, 15 conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology, areas dedicated to collaboration and socialising, lounges, acoustic booths, spaces for corporate events, and a mix of integrated amenities such as a café, recreation spaces, bicycle parking, and showers.
Hotspot recently expanded its presence in The Mark building by adding approximately 700 sqm. The new expansion provided additional space for existing tenants and accommodated new companies within the Hotspot community.
“We are seeing sustained demand from companies for premium workspaces that combine operational flexibility with the standards and services associated with a corporate headquarters. More and more organisations are seeking solutions that allow them to focus on business development without having to manage the complexities of operating their own office infrastructure. In this context, we are actively exploring opportunities to expand Hotspot’s presence in a new office building in Bucharest to meet existing demand and continue developing a strong business community around our concept,” added Cristina Dumitrescu, Hotspot Development Director.
According to company representatives, flexible office spaces are no longer perceived exclusively as a solution for startups, as they are becoming a strategic option even for mature organisations and international companies seeking operational efficiency, predictability, and a high-quality employee experience. Currently, the Hotspot community brings together local and international companies active in industries such as IT, technology, pharma, consulting, professional services, logistics, and financial services.
