Goodman Group, a global owner, developer and manager of industrial real estate, has been named Europe’s top real estate developer for the fifth consecutive year by PropertyEU. Since claiming the top spot in 2011, Goodman has developed over four million sqm of logistics and business space in Europe, representing an investment of close to €3 billion across 132 projects.
“We owe this achievement to the trust our customers place in us to provide them with property solutions that meet their critical business needs. Partnering with our customers to deliver on these needs forges strong relationships that extend beyond the development phase as we continue to provide all-round property services during the lease term,” said Philippe Van der Beken, Goodman Managing Director for Continental Europe. “The result of this integrated ‘own, develop, manage’ approach to real estate is strong customer loyalty and repeat business with many customers across key industry sectors.”
Each year PropertyEU bases its ranking on completed projects over the previous three years. By focusing on quality, reliability and long-term property ownership, Goodman has worked hard to earn repeat business from some of the world’s biggest brands including, Amazon, Zalando, Kuehne + Nagel and BMW. Many of these partnerships also extend beyond Europe to Australia, China and New Zealand.
Goodman has established itself as the leading developer of ecommerce logistics space in Europe, providing over 1.5 million sqm of space to the sector since 2006. The majority of the space, 1.2 million sqm, was developed for the sector from 2009 to 2015, with roughly 90 percent of the space representing repeat business from existing customers. During this period, Goodman completed nine projects for Amazon in Germany, France and Poland as well four projects in Germany for Zalando in Erfurt and Mönchengladbach and two for Home24 in Ludwigsfelde and Walsrode.
Approximately one quarter of Goodman’s development space during 2009 to 2015 has been for transport and logistics companies. Goodman has leveraged its European platform to deliver 20 different projects for industry leaders, such as DB Schenker, DHL, DSV and Kuehne + Nagel, in France, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and the UK.
