The VGP Group, a European provider of high-quality logistics and commercial real estate, is developing and building a business park on the municipal territory of Laxenburg and Guntramsdorf in Austria. VGP laid the foundation stone for the project together with Klubobmann and ecoplus Supervisory Board Chairman Jochen Danninger. Construction work is scheduled to be completed by summer 2024, with the opening planned for fall 2024.
Two halls with a total of 52,000 sqm of leasable space for industrial, logistics and commercial purposes will be built on a site area of around 120,000 sqm. One of the buildings has already been fully pre-let to a trading company. The expected construction period is twelve months.
“VGP Park Laxenburg is conveniently located directly on the A2 highway and ideally situated in the Vienna metropolitan area. The project will create approximately 300-400 new jobs. The tenants of the differently sized properties will be international corporations as well as Austrian and regional companies and SMEs,” says Markus Gollob, Country Manager of VGP in Austria.
VGP is thus already building its second business park in Austria. In the fall of 2023, the third construction phase of the Graz Business Park in Premstätten will be completed.
“Sustainability and energy efficiency are essential parameters in all our projects and thus also central to the development of this project in Laxenburg,” says Jan Van Geet, CEO of VGP, emphasizing that a photovoltaic system will be built in Laxenburg. Likewise, e-charging stations will be available.
Jochen Danninger says at the groundbreaking ceremony, “The VGP Park project shows how important the good cooperation between the province of Lower Austria, ecoplus and local investors is. The development of the approximately 120,000 sqm site will create important new jobs and an economic impetus for the entire region,” adding, “As the province of Lower Austria, we know that people are moved by the issue of sustainability and land consumption. But it is also clear that we need a sustainability policy with common sense and an interplay between sustainability and the economy. The VGP Park is a good example of how such a project can be implemented sustainably.”
