How many real estate deals were inked in Romania last year? – EuropaProperty

Romanians bought and sold over 627,000 properties in 2017, according to latest data from Romania’s Cadaster and Real Estate Publicity Agency (ANCPI).

Bucharest topped the ranking with over 82,000 real estate deals, followed by Cluj county, with about half – 43,000, and Ilfov, the county surrounding Bucharest, closely behind with over 41,000 deals. The least dynamic counties were Teleorman, 4,400 deals, Salaj with 3,900, and Caras Severin with only 3,600 real estate deals last year.

December was a busy month for real estate transactions, with almost 56,000 such deals concluded, out of which 8,800 in Bucharest alone.

Romania counted over 250,000 mortgages in 2017, 51,000 of which in Bucharest. Western Romania county of Timis ranked first for number of sold agricultural plots – 8,800 such deals, followed by Arad also in the West – 7,600, and Dolj to the South, some 7,300 transactions.
