Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland has purchased two plots of land totalling over 46 hectares from the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “INVEST-PARK.” These plots, located near Jawor, will be the site of a new industrial park, complementing the nearby factory for light commercial vehicles currently under construction. This marks another significant investment by the automotive giant in Lower Silesia.
On December 13, an agreement was signed for the acquisition of two plots measuring 11.3 hectares in the Jawor municipality and 34.8 hectares in the neighbouring Męcinka municipality. The first plot is directly linked to the development of the light commercial vehicle factory announced by Mercedes-Benz on December 4, while the second plot will expand the area allocated for this project.“The new factory represents modern standards, automated production, and advanced manufacturing methods. I hope Jawor will become the heart of many production processes based in Lower Silesia,” said Michał Jaros, Deputy Minister of Development and Technology, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mercedes-Benz Vans factory in Jawor. He emphasized that such investments not only benefit the region but also create opportunities for Polish suppliers of products and services. Mercedes-Benz plans to establish an industrial park in Męcinka. It will serve as a hub for sequencing assembly materials and preliminary assembly processes carried out by the company’s suppliers. The new infrastructure is expected to play a critical role in streamlining production processes.
“We are delighted to see Mercedes-Benz expanding its presence in Jawor. This brand is not only an icon of the automotive industry but also a symbol of innovation and technological transformation in manufacturing. For the region, Mercedes-Benz is a stable partner that demonstrates responsible business practices and openness to local collaboration,” said Wojciech Smoliński, President of WSSE “INVEST-PARK.”
Strategically located adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz production facility, the industrial park is designed to enhance logistics and add significant value to the company’s operations while supporting regional development. “Advanced production technologies, an optimized organizational system, and excellent logistics are key features we enthusiastically support as a special economic zone. Furthermore, the investment creates a local entrepreneurship hub where large production facilities stimulate the growth of smaller businesses,” added Krzysztof Hołub, Vice President of WSSE “INVEST-PARK.”On December 4, Mercedes-Benz announced the construction of a new factory for light commercial vehicles based on the transformation and expansion of its existing facility, which has been producing engines and batteries since 2019. The Jawor plant will become a key part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans production network in Europe and will play a pivotal role in the company’s transition to electromobility.
Starting in 2026, all newly developed medium and large Mercedes-Benz vans will be based on the VAN.EA electric architecture. “This planned factory in Poland, part of our global production network alongside plants in Germany and Spain, underscores our ongoing transformation towards greater efficiency, flexibility, and a focus on an electric future. Advanced technologies will be implemented on production lines to manufacture premium electric vans for our customers,” said Francesco Ciancia, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Operations, at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The newly acquired land enhances Mercedes-Benz’s investment footprint in Lower Silesia, where it already owns over 101 hectares of land near Jawor. This expansion further solidifies the company’s commitment to the region and its role in shaping the future of sustainable mobility.
