Ghelamco Poland, the developer and general contractor of the .big office building in Krakow, has symbolically topped out the completed building structure. The Belgian investor’s first project in Krakow will be commissioned later this year.
Works on the fifth storey of the .big office building in Krakow have been completed and the structure now has its projected height. Currently the facade assembly is coming to an end and soon finishing works in the interior will start. The building will be ready in Q3 2018.
“From the very beginning, the construction has been going as planned. I am happy that the results of our work are now visible,” said Jarosław Zagórski, Commercial and Business Development Director, Ghelamco Poland. “Krakow is a unique place where innovation meets history and tradition. We wanted to combine these aspects in our project. The building’s body is modern, but it fits in well with the height of the surrounding buildings. It perfectly reflects the character of this part of the city,” he adds.
The project’s location, i.e. at Kapelanka and Bohdana Zielińskiego streets, ensures quick access to the city centre by public transport as well as the direct vicinity of the green areas of forest wilderness Skały Twardowskiego and Zakrzówek reservoir. The office building neighbours with the so called Ruczaj, i.e. one of the fastest growing parts of the city. The Krakow Technology Park and the Jagiellonian University’s campus operate in the area.
The small building is designed to form an irregular polygon. The main entrance will be situated in the northern part, from gen. Zielińskiego street, with the driveway to the property. The facade of the last storey is clearly withdrawn. The first floor will feature a patio with plants, whereas on the roof there will be a generally accessible observation deck with an area of 200 sqm. The underground part will include a garage for 148 cars as well as dedicated places for cyclists with showers and lockers. The developer will also provide charging stations for electric cars.
