Wingsrom Flying Quality Products, who estimated turnover of 14 million euros for 2020, approaches new markets today, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, Wingsrom reached 9 million euros turnover.
Founded in 2012, initially as a strategic supplier for the aircraft engines manufacturer, now having over 150 employees, Wingsrom Flying Quality Products’ main activity is the mechanical processing through different processes on CNC machinery, turning, milling, finishing, marking and other related activities (3D measurements, metallography, non-destructing control and testing) including few special process.
The emergency amid pandemic COVID-19, instituted in early March in Romania, created numerous difficulties among the local entrepreneurs. While many companies decided to lay-off their employees and stop their activity, Ronen Navick decided to reinvent his business strategy. “We continue to believe in this business, even though now it’s not the most auspicious period for our company. We were very affected by this period, taking into consideration that our production volume dropped by 60 percent. We continued to constantly produce during this emergency period and couldn’t benefit from the State Authorities. Afterwards, our volumes dropped dramatically. As nothing comes easy, we’re making huge efforts to reposition ourselves on the market and try to approach new industries, given that the aviation industry is suffering right now, because we want to keep our employees that we thoroughly formed professionally,” Wingsrom’s CEO explained.
In his opinion, Wingsrom can cover more market sectors necessities and says that he’s ready for new challenges and opportunities. “We are ready to collaborate with companies from industries such as automotive, medical, energy and ecologic technology, mainly from Europe and the Middle East. We have great experience in the aviation industry, especially with materials processing, for any inquiry available on the market,@ the Israeli businessman commented, who eight years ago had put a bet on Romania and opened a business here.
Wingsrom proudly owns the latest generation of turning and milling equipment – the Okuma CNC brand – one of the best manufacturers worldwide, which allows the company to ensure the manufacturing of products at high international standards. Wingsrom uses the LB2000EX and LB3000EX series in various configurations and MULTUS B300 II with a 40 tools magazine for turning/milling operations. Its milling department is supported by five OKUMA MU400VA 5-axis machines, three 4-axis OKUMA MB4000 with pallets as well as one 3-axis OKUMA MB46. Also, the machines are supported by a fully integrated Master CAM software and two dedicated CMM to correlate the 3D models during development and production. The quality of the obtained products can be tested through micro and macro hardness checking methods. These procedures were audited and approved by NADCAP and they take place in a metallographic laboratory, equipped with the latest generation machines.
Currently, the company owns the ISO 9001, AS 9100 and also the NADCAP certifications for non-destructing control and hardness control. We are in process to obtain certification ISO 13485
