Poland is rapidly becoming an automotive industry hub in which Goodman will develop a 27,500 sqm warehouse for Valeo Autosystemy, a subsidiary of the French automotive group Valeo. Goodman’s second development project for Valeo will be located adjacent to its plant in Skawina, near Kraków, capitalizing on the area’s well-developed road infrastructure.
Goodman will soon commence a 27,510 sqm grade A project for Valeo Autosystemy that specialises in the design, manufacture and sale of components, integrated systems and modules for the automotive industry. It currently has four production facilities in southern Poland, including two in Skawina, near Kraków, and it leases a warehousing unit at the Goodman Kraków Airport Logistics Centre (KALC). The new warehouse will optimize the storage of components and finished products manufactured in the Skawina facilities. It is expected to be delivered in Q4 2017.
“As Valeo Autosystemy expands in southern Poland, it needs new warehouse space within an optimal distance from its factories in Skawina. We decided to extend our cooperation with Goodman, following the success of our relationship with them at KALC, where we launched a joint project to develop a new logistics facility. Goodman was up to the challenge and found and purchased an attractive parcel of land in the direct vicinity of our production plant in Skawina,” said Marek Potoczny, country director for public funds and industrial projects at Valeo Autosystemy.

Automotive industry in southern Poland outpaces growth in other sectors
Automotive industry players in southern Poland are drawn to expand their presence here by the region’s attractive access to the East-West corridor and its well-developed road infrastructure. Last year, industry giants Toyota and Daimler announced their plans to invest in sites in southern and southwestern Poland.
“The automotive sector is one of the Polish economy’s pillars. The contract signed with Valeo in Skawina testifies to the industry’s growing role in generating demand for modern warehousing and industrial space in Poland. In 2016, the automotive sector’s net demand rose to a record-high 183,000 sqm, denoting 8 percent year-on-year growth,” said Tomasz Mika, head of the warehouse and industrial space department at JLL.
JLL experts advised Valeo on the lease transaction and JLL has a long standing history of co-operation with Goodman.
